Japanese Hamburger Steak

What you need (serves two)

200g ground beef, 100g ground pork, onion, any oil of your choice, milk, egg, black pepper, mushrooms, any white wine of your choice, ketchup, worcestershire sauce/steak sauce/soy sauce, sugar, and butter

What you do

In a bowl, mix the chopped half onion with 1T oil and microwave for 1 minute until softened.

Combine 1T milk, 1 egg, 2 pinches of black pepper, and 2T flour.

Mix 200g ground beef, 100g ground pork, and 1T salt. Stir and knead until the mixture becomes sticky.

Lightly coat your hands with oil, divide the meat mixture into two portions, and shape them into patties.

Toss the patties back and forth between your hands about 50 times until they become smooth and firm.

Heat a frying pan and add cooking oil.

Press the center of each patty slightly to create an indentation and cook over medium heat until both sides are browned.

Lower the heat, add a little water, cover with a lid, and steam for 5 minutes.

Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center—if the juices run clear, the patties are cooked.

In the same pan, sauté the sliced 2-3 mushrooms.

Add 2T cooking wine, 3T worcestershire sauce/ steak sauce (or 1T soy sauce), 2T ketchup, and 1T sugar and simmer until the sauce thickens.

Stir in 10g butter until melted. Pour the sauce over the hamburger steaks and enjoy!
