What you need
1 cup of water, 1T sugar, 1 heaping T gochujang, 1T fine chili powder (gochugaru), 1T broth powder (like dashida or hondashi), 0.5T soy sauce, 1–2 stalks of green onion, 1T of syrup (honey, maple syrup, or allulose), rice cakes, fish cakes, and optional ramen noodles.
What you do
Add all ingredients into a pot and simmer over low heat for about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens.

I think I finally found the tteokbokki recipe I’ll stick with forever.
I used to overlook how important it is to use fine gochugaru—without it, the whole thing just turns into a spicy red pepper soup. Which… I really didn’t need to experience 😂
